Hello World!

Paging Mom! Paging Mom!

Am in desperate need of a new hobby: one where I don't necessarily look and gaze at screens all day. One where I make something that is tangible and that I can do outside of work hours.

My mother was good enough to loan me some cloth and a few colors. She gave me a short instruction and I was off to try to create something in cross stitch embroidery. The image above is my first creation and when I look at my technique, I would have given myself different instructions, but the image still works. Always start with your own name as a way to say "Hello World!" and the little figure reading seemed apt.

When I finished this little first sampler, I did not realize this was the beginning of a new hobby, one which I enjoy more and more each day!
